What are your thoughts on deciding to pursue an MSW degree?
I decided to pursue an MSW degree because I want to be a therapist and this seemed like the most logical way to achieve that goal.
Why did you choose BYU’s social work program?
It is a clinical program.
What are your career goals/aspirations?
I want to become an expert in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I am currently interested in working with the adolescent population after graduation.
Tell us about your BYU internship experience(s)
Currently I am doing an internship at Turnabout Stillwater Academy. The client population includes adolescent males and females that deal with a variety of issues including drugs, alcohol, self harm, self esteem, trauma, past abuse, perpetration and many more. One thing I really like about this program is its inclusion of family systems therapy to enable the children to have a better chance of success when they graduate.
